seeing's how i've been 'tagged' twice now, this post is long overdue.
the nerve of some people............reading my stuff and liking it and such.......
why do i blog?
1) it has always been a dream of mine to be a writer, and this medium provides practice. i don't know if i'll ever have the 10,000 hours (Malcolm Gladwell, Outliers reference)......but it sure is fun to try.
2) catharsis. i love having a place to vent. i feel like i am a part of a community. an interweb community of people sorta like me, many with the same job, but a community nonetheless.
3) creative outlet. i love changing the identities of patients and co-workers and such, so as to make them untraceable. the challenge of HIPPA and PHI is fun to overcome.
my blog honor roll. see side bar >>>------------------------------> here.
just kidding.
in no particular order:
1. doc grumpy. prolific, funny, intelligent. great mix of exasperating (stupid) patient encounters, historical stuff, and learning moments. a lot of funny. other doc blogs that also rock; Ask an MD, Movin' Meat, Fizzy, Asystole (okay, she's like, mostly-almost-kinda a doc), OldMDGirl, ER Stories,
2. Head Nurse. like, the original inspiration. if you don't already know..........i don't know what to tell you.
3. Abilene Rob. ex-jarhead, cool/oddball sense of humor, this guy's gonna be a great nurse. sometimes, about the great ones, you can just tell. great writer.
4. nurseXY. same here. blunt, brutally honest about nursing skool and personal life, guy is also a GREAT writer. hey nurseXY, you should post a link to your older blog. just for me.
5. Maha. the first gal that made me fall in love with ER blogs. i've gone back and read her since her start, back when she was still in nursing skool, and it has been interesting to see her progression. other ER blogs that rock my world; Running Wildly, New Nurse in the Hood, Fundus Chop, Thoughs from the Night Shift,
6. Weird Nursing Tales. guy can't sing worth a lick (he and i would make a great duo), but a fellow nurse, and he's from my home town of El Paso? gotta love'im.
7. pharm doods. Your Pharmacist May Hate You, and The Angry Pharmacist. why are they so angry? read'em and find out.
8. the Canadians. Call Me Nurse, Running Wildly, Maha, Asystole. all Canadian, all cool. what's up with that?
9. everybody else on my blog roll. seriously, i'm not real great with the technology thing, and it's taken me FOREVER just to make this *$#@ post, what with the copying links and such.
and lastly, Nurse K, come baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
mmm'okay, love you 'bye!
